The 2010 Indiana State Time Trial Championship began with a record pre-registration and ended with another record - the course record, set by MOB Squad’s Francis Manfred.

“I’m very happy about being the overall Indiana State Time Trial Champion again! Competition was very good. As I get older I appreciate my health and the ability to still compete with younger guys. However, it certainly isn’t getting easier,” Manfred told his family and friends on his Facebook page.

Manfred finished with a time of 51:57, 10 seconds faster than the course record set back in 2008 by Guy East. A camera crew was on hand to capture his record run and interview Manfred at the start and finish line.

New state champions were also named and 25 racers broke the hour! Commemorative t-shirts were given out to the state champions and special sub-hour t-shirts were handed out to the 40K racers who finished in under an hour.

The event is the first of two State Championships presented by Men of Steel Racing. The club also puts on the 2010 Indiana State Road Race Championship in Woodburn, Indiana, this Sunday, July 25th. In addition, they also put on the 2nd Annual Parkview Cycling Festival on July 31st at Parkview Field in downtown Fort Wayne, IN.
