It was a little chilly at the start, but I'm sure the climbs provided some warmth, along with abundant sunshine. The course was a 25 mile loop, with 2 large short climbs, and a few long easier accents.
The 123's had a 7 man break, after a few hills, for 3 loops around the Columbia countryside, and 3/4's, 4/5's. and the women, went 2 laps, for 50 miles. Kevin Attkisson and Barbasols's Rolf Eisinger battled it out on the last climb, with Kevin taking the win. In the 3/4 category, Papa John's teen sensation, Andrew Lllewellyn, took a pull up the first hillclimb, and pulled away from the best of the 3/4's the rest of the day, racing in for the win. Nike Dalaire gave Huber a run for her money today, climbing her way behind Texas Roadhouse's best. She almost came up with the win, falling short just inches. The 4/5's also went 50 miles on this grueling mountain goat of a course. Team Northwestern, from Chicago, came down to make a mark, and Will Nowak took the line. Junior racer Kyle Anderson is to move up. He's rolling in the W's. Making a mark at the Green River Road Race for Texas Roadhouse, taking the win.
So the 2007 edition of the Kentuckiana Spring Training Series is rolling right along, with the point standings pretty tight. Keep posted, there's four more rounds to go.
