Kuhn Cup

Team Time Trial

Schedule: 9:00 - 1st wave;  10:00 - 2nd wave

Teams will start at 2 minute intervals and will complete 3 laps of a 5.5 mile rolling loop.  Each team will start with 4-6 riders and the 4th rider across the line will stop the clock.

Team Sprint Race

12:00 start

This race will be on the same course as the team time trial.  Riders will complete 6 laps of the circuit.  At the finish line of each lap, the top 3 riders will receive bonus seconds that will deducted off of that team’s team time trial time.  Time bonuses will be weighted for the midway and final laps.  A full list of time bonuses will be available prior to race day.

Overall Classification is determine by the lowest aggregate time.   Ties will be determined by the highest placed rider in the final sprint of the Team Sprint Race.

Entry - $75 per team and includes appropriate USAC fees.

Prizes - Wining team gets the Kuhn Cup.  This award is in memory of American cycling pioneer and mentor Fritz Kuhn. Fritz was instrumental in the growth of cycling in this county and in the development of riders such as Dave Chauner, Bobby Phillips, and John Allis.  The team will receive a replica of the Cup that will be permanently housed at the Kuhn family shop, Kopp’s Cycles, in Princeton NJ.  The top teams club name and riders names will be engraved in the permanent cup.

The last placed team will receive the Palachick Cup.  Details and specifics concerning that award are not worth mentioning in this document.

Directions: Registration and parking will take place at the Farmdale Elementary School in Landisville, PA.  To get to the school, take Route 30 to the Prospect Road exit, west of Lancaster.  Exit to the North ( away form the Wendys and Turkey Hill) and go over the big Hill. Follow that road down the other side of the hill and the school will sit on your left hand side. Facilities will be limited, so you may want to take advantage of the shopping center and Turkey Hill just off the exit for your basic needs.

Teams will consist of a minimum of 4 riders and a maximum of 6.  No substitutions between events.  All team members must be registered members of the participation club.  No composite teams. One team per club.   Promoter reserves the right to make any adjustments to maintian a fair, fun and competative event.
