Ohio Valley Cyclocross Series: Race #7

Another beautiful fall day greeted 50 racers for the series annual return to Cowan Lake – gotta love that sand! With the SuperCup race in Chicago the day before, the field was a bit smaller and many of the racers were doing their second CX race of the weekend. In the "A" race Phil Noble (Hoopers/Kenda) was again the class of the field – Kirk Albers (IKON/Lexus) was able to stay with him for half the race before finishing second 1:10 followed by Mongoose Team rider (and Bicycling ad celebrity) Ryan O’Conner.
The women’s race was won by Louisville’s Michele Miller, followed by Sheila Senft (PROCOPY) and Beth Jordan of Bishop’s Old School Racing.
Russ Meyer won the "C" race followed by Jim Roegge in second and Mark Cauble (BioWheels) in third. Sorry, but I have not received any results for the "B" race yet.
The racers were treated to post-race refreshments from SOBE and Team Headshock (thanks Andy!). Craig Mattern (Team Columbus) was the lucky winner of the drawing for the Cannondale CaaD3 CX frameset.
