Race Results
The weather gods were on our side providing a crystal clear 50 degree day in the great Northwest. If this race is any indication of the vitality of road racing, then the outlook is a good! A record number of 313 total participants took place in the second annual Snohomish road race, but not all finished the deceivingly tough race.

Category Pro 1 & 2 Men - 48 racers - 77 miles
This 7 lap - 77 mile race started out with an early first lap break that include John Mitchem (Lemond/Bike gallery) Ben Kaplan (Saturn of Bellevue) Paul Johnson (Thomas Kemper) and two other riders. After 2 1/2 laps the small hills had sheared off all but Kaplan and Mitchem but with the reduction in number their 1 minute gap was quickly brought back. With 1 1/2 laps to go a small group of six riders including Jason Gonzales (Ray's Boathouse) Ian Tubbs (Seattle Message School) Rob Silver (Thomas Kemper) Zac Houghton (Lemond/bike gallery) and two other riders went off the front. This cohesive group quickly put the main pack 50 seconds in arrears. With 3/4 of a lap to go Kenny Williams bridged the now 1 minute gap solo to join the 6 leaders. With another set of legs the group continued to put time into pack. On some of the small hills it looked as if Williams was testing the other riders ability to climb - pushing them hard up every roller. Cat 1 & 2 & 3 Women - 11 riders - 44 miles
Cat 4 Women - 17 riders - 33 miles
Master Men A's - 37 rider - 44 miles
Masters Men B's - 37 riders - 44 miles
Juniors - 8 riders - 33 miles
Thanks to all the racers who took time before or after there race to corner marshal or drive support vehicles in the race!! Without your help the races would not go on!
