The series finale of the Foley/Mansfield Track Racing Series lived up to expectations and provided the "crowd" of spectators with some exciting racing to watch. Roger Parenteau (St. Croix Bike & Skate) took control of the Senior Men Categories 1, 2 & 3 classification, distancing himself from a very competitive field. Bob Schwartz (Chippewa Valley Cycling Club) and Doug Beck (Uptown Cycling Club) finished second and third behind Parenteau.

Parenteau also took first place for the series in the Master Men 35+ classification, adding to his lead. Team mates Doug Register, Dean Jarnow and Jeff Thompson (Fellowship of Christian Atheletes) worked together and held off the competition to lock up second, third and fourth places, respectively, behind Parenteau in the Masters classification.

In the Senior Men Categories 4 & 5, rapidly rising star, Andrew Rivard (Minneapolis Bicycle Racing Club), pulled ahead of the rest of a very evenly matched field to take first in the series. Tom MacDonald (St. Paul Bicycle Racing Club) took second, and Mark Sundlin (Maximum Velocity) finished in third after only racing one date. MacDonald's team mates, Mike Robertson, Kevin Nolan and Dave LaPorte finished  in fourth through sixth, respectively, with only three points separating them in the final standings.

Barb Harick (Minnesota Cycling Team) repeated her performance of June 14, winning the day and splitting the events with Sue Lee (Saint Paul Bicycle Racing Club) in the Women's classification. Lee took first in the series, however, with Harick settling for second.

The series is finished for this year, but look for the Foley Mansfield Track Racing Series to return for its fourth year in 1999.
