Directions

• Time Trial: I-44 to Highway 74 North (Lake Hefner Parkway).  Exit West on Hefner Road. Take 1st left into park area.
• Criterium: I-40 East, Exit on Walker. Go North. Start/Finish is one block east on Hudson  at Couch.
• Road Race: I-35 to the Britton Road exit (6 miles North of Downtown OKC), go 9 miles east to Henney Road in Jones. Park in designated area located in the field behind Sak-N-Go at Britton & Henney Roads.

Registration

Register at the Lighthouse Sports Center from 6:00pm to 10:00pm Friday night, and from 6:00am to 8:30am Saturday morning. The Lighthouse is on Hefner Road just east of the Lake Hefner Parkway on the north side. Registration for the all time trails and the stage race will close at 8:30am Saturday. Registration for the criterium will close 1 hour before each race. Registration for the road race will close 7:30am Sunday. Note: Only pre-registered stage racers may pick their numbers up to 1 hour before the start of their time trial.

Entry Fees

• Single Stages - $15
• Complete Stage Race - $40

A $5 late fee will be charged for entries received after July 27. Non-licensed riders must purchase a $5 one-day USCF license for each day. No late fee for Non-licensed riders. No entry fee for the Kids' Crit. Entry fees for all races include the $2/day USCF insurance surcharge. To pre-register, send a completed 1998 Standard Athletes release form. Be sure to include your name, telephone number, zip code, club name, license number, age, category, and the race category you are entering. Oh, and of course please send a check. Remember, pre-registration helps us and saves you.

Course Descriptions

Time Trial: 10K out and back at the north end of Lake Hefner on the dam road -- dead flat, but very exposed. Start order will be first come first served for each category and class. Pre-registers get first preference; riders to go off at 30 second intervals. The time trial start is in the parking area on the northeast side of Lake Hefner. Entrance to the parking area is on the south side of Hefner Road just west of the Lake Hefner Parkway.

Criterium: In Downtown Oklahoma City in front of City hall. A fast flat 0.8-mile circuit with 9 corners. The course is wide with good pavement. Free lap rule will be in effect until the last 5 laps. Wheel support policy will be wheels in wheels out. Chief Referee reserves the right to pull lapped riders. Pulled riders will receive a 5 point penalty, then may continue on to the next stage

Road Race: Circuit course on a 15-mile loop with demanding hills... The finish line and
feed zone are on "Coopers Revenge" located between Hogback and Indian Meridian on Memorial. Registration will be at the park on the east side of Jones on Britton Road. Staging will be on Henney Road north of Britton Road next to the ball fields. There will be a neutral roll out to the racecourse on Hogback
Road. Neutral support will be in effect.

Rules

• All 1998 USCF Rules will be in effect.
• The yellow line rule will be strictly enforced.
• Valid USCF license must be presented at registration.
• Fields are limited to a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 100 riders.
• Helmets must be worn at all times when on a bike.
• The promoter reserves the right to adjust starting times, mileage, cancel/combine events and prize lists as necessary on race day.
• Event held rain or shine.

* Points Stage Race *

Placing in the stage race will be on an individual points classification. Placing will be determined by adding points awarded at each stage. The following points scale shall apply to 1st to 15th places in all stages: 25, 20, 16, 14, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Bonus points will be awarded in the road race for each Class/Category to the first three riders across the finish line at the completion of the second full lap. Points given will be 3, 2, 1 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. Riders pulled from the criterium will receive a 5 point penalty, but will be eligible to compete for points in the next stage. If two or more riders have equal points at the end of the last stage, the order of placing in the time trial will determine the final placing. If there is a tie in the time trial, the order shall be determined by the number of stages in which each rider finished first, then second and so forth until the greater number of places awarded to one or other of the riders determines the final placing.

* Individual Races *

Riders may enter each event separately. Riders entered in separate events will not receive points. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event. All racers, stage or individual, are competing for the same single event prizes.

Facilities

• Time Trial: Adequate changing facilities at the Lighthouse, including swimming for anyone possessing $4 and a proper swimsuit.
• Criterium: Limited
• Road Race: Really Limited
