The Montana Cyclo-cross season got underway Sunday, Oct. 11 with a stellar field battling the technical, transitiony Cox Lake course in Helena. After a great road racing season based in Bend, OR., Jamul Hahn (Strong Racing) found the Montana roots and dirt to his liking blasting to a convincing win in the first race of the 6-race SuperPrestige Series. Other category winners included: Jeff Crouch (5 Valley Velo) in the B race, Anne Blanche Adams (Peninsula Velo) in the women's race, and Ed Van Aelstyn (5 Valley Velo) in the Masters 35+.

Promoter Geoff Proctor (Montana Velo) was pleased with the day's events: "The racing was animated, the weather dank and frigid, and lots of riders liked the course. Most of all, the guys are psyched for 'cross now!"

The thrashing continues next week in Bozeman for race #2.

A big thanks to race helpers: Trek-Barr, Big Sky Cyclery, Official Becky Broeder, and volunteers Carl and André Anderberg, David Roberts, and Nick Howarth.
